“We’re Not Just Going To Give You $750,000! We’re Not A Bank, Jerry.”

Ironically, we see the hidden fees.

But, what about the criminal psychology?

Why do banks, i.e., institutions (purportedly) architectured to fund people, invest in the subterfuge of thievery? Is it the pneuma of Bonnie & Clyde that drives business? An idiosyncrasy to invite levity in an otherwise cookie-cut, brick-and-mortar?

Well, Wells Fargo…

I see you.

From a lingering presence in my grandparent’s home, I feel the moles burrowing beneath your network.

The effective stratagem and animus filtering through the channels of low-income neighbourhoods. Branches that are conspicuously placed just a bone’s throw away, neighbouring the hovels of loan sharks and insurance companies.

You, establishing a settled medium between.

Thus, the mystery persists.

What does “Fargo” entail?

Not the film (of which you’ve likely never seen).

Rather, an abstract interpretation of “going far”.

Thus, the query is stretched.

How far gone are banks to charge a penalty fee for inactive checking accounts?

Accidental or intentional neglect, where is the reason behind a monthly service fee of $10–12, still in effect even after an overdraft fee has been charged in the act of having zero available balance and only 36 hours to compensate the negative?

Now, a gross file cabinet’s worth of livid customers are here to partake in the illicit act of settling a score.

Through rare terms of legality.

If a company decides to play dirty, it seems only fair for their sty of customers to gather within the same pen, renouncing their signatures.

Or, they simply take the next best solution.

Join a credit union.
